Abstract
This study aims to analyze the role of the principal in enhancing teacher innovation and the quality of learning at MTs Pelita Purwodadi, Kabupaten Tanggamus. The grand theories employed are transformational and instructional leadership, positioning the principal as a leader of innovation in education. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection methods including interviews, observations, and documentation. The research subjects comprise the principal, teachers, and students of MTs Pelita Purwodadi. The findings indicate that the principal plays a significant role in fostering innovation through effective supervision, professional development of teachers, and provision of learning facilities. The discussion reveals that teacher innovation, such as the application of technology in learning, positively contributes to the improvement of learning quality. Challenges identified include limited resources and variability in teacher motivation. The implications of this research underscore the importance of principals adopting adaptive leadership strategies and fostering collaboration to create an innovative learning environment. This study adds value by offering insights into effective educational leadership practices, which are relevant for policy development and improving learning quality in madrasahs.
