Abstract
This research aims to determine and analyze the influence of leadership and principal competence on the performance of driving teachers in Tanggamus Regency. This research uses quantitative methods with a survey approach which takes samples from one population and uses a questionnaire as the main data collection tool. The research population is all 123 driving teachers in Tanggamus Regency were selected using techniques simple random sampling. Data was collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with normality, homogeneity, linearity and hypothesis tests. The results of the research show that, Principal Leadership has a negative and significant effect on the Performance of Driving Teachers in Tanggamus Regency by 56.3%, Competence of School Principals has a positive and significant effect on the Performance of Driving Teachers in Tanggamus Regency by 42.4%, Leadership and Competence of school principals together (simultaneously) on the Performance of Driving Teachers in Tanggamus Regency amounted to 92.7%, a positive effect which can be seen from the results of the f test with a value of Sig. equal to 0.000 < 0.05 and 5%) The dominant variable between Leadership and Principal Competence is the Leadership variable which is indicated by the results of the beta test (dominant) with a value of 0.508.
