Abstract

Islamic education in madrasahs faces various challenges in management, such as financial management, human resource management, and teaching quality. The leadership system that tends to be traditional often limits innovation and active participation from all elements of the institution. Amidst technological developments and globalization, madrasahs need to adjust the curriculum to remain relevant, while maintaining a balance between intellectual intelligence and character formation based on religious values. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach, through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of transformational leadership in madrasahs has a positive impact on the management and quality of education. This leadership creates an inclusive and participatory environment, encourages innovation, and increases collaboration between teachers, students, and parents. This contributes to the improvement of the curriculum, teaching methods, and the development of teacher professional competencies, which improves student learning outcomes. In addition, transformational leadership strengthens an innovative organizational culture and supports adaptation to technological developments. Despite challenges such as resistance to change and limited resources, support from the government and stakeholders is essential for the successful implementation of this leadership.
