Abstract
Education is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students can actively develop their potential to have spiritual strength, personality, intelligence and the skills they need to be useful for the nation (Titik Handayani, 2016). However, education is actually one of the institutions in which there are leaks of cases which cause a reduction in education budgets and funds, as well as increasing the cost burden that must be borne by the community and decreasing the quality of education. (Point Handayani, 2016). Therefore, improving the quality of education can be achieved through Good School Governance (Trismanto & Yusak Lestari Diyono, 2014; Erstiawan, 2021). Good school governance will result in good management, so that the quality of output from students will also be good and increase the owner's trust in the agent (Erstiawan 2021). This research aims to reveal Good School Governance and agency theory at the Shafta Islamic School as one of the best Islamic schools in Surabaya so that it can be an example for other educational institutions. The research method used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. The results of this research are that Good School Governance is implemented well and the agency theory that occurs makes management performance effective.
