Abstract
This study aims to examine the relationship between the flexibility of the Merdeka Curriculum and the character development and skills of Generation Alpha at SMP Negeri 1 Talang Padang. Generation Alpha, born in the digital era, requires an educational approach that is adaptive and relevant to the demands of the times. The method used is descriptive qualitative, with data collection through interviews, observations, and documentation involving teachers, students, and educational staff.The results of the study show that the flexibility of the Merdeka Curriculum provides opportunities for educators to design more personalized and project-based learning, tailored to the needs of students. This approach has proven effective in enhancing students' creativity, critical thinking skills, and collaboration abilities. Moreover, the implementation of this curriculum also supports the development of positive character traits such as responsibility, independence, and adaptability.However, there are challenges to be addressed, including the readiness of educators to understand and implement the curriculum, as well as the limitations of supporting facilities. Therefore, teacher training and the provision of adequate facilities are crucial to ensuring the successful implementation of this curriculum.In conclusion, the flexibility of the Merdeka Curriculum holds great potential in preparing Generation Alpha to face future challenges if implemented optimally.
